| hey everyone...sorry it's been so long since I last posted. deb and i have been running constantly since we returned from Juarez. i will be more faithful to the xanga community. nevertheless, this time of inconsistency in schedule is pushing me to find my security in Jesus alone - psalm 62. peace. | | |
| Well, last night in Juarez. I am looking forward to coming home, but it is also sad to leave the people here. God has done so much and has proven his faithfulness over and over. Thank you guys so much for praying and for posting! Please continue to lift up prayers for the little neighborhood near the mountains. It is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Juarez, but God isn't intimidated by that at all...He has a people for his own possession in that neighborhood. And, during this month, he has shown us that if we'll just step out there he'll show up. Lord, build your church in that place. Thanks for hearing my thoughts. Peace to you guys! | | |
| I finished the book "Victory over Darkness" and am about to finish "The Case for Christ," which I didn't think I would enjoy. It's a great book that, for me, solidifies the awesome reality of the historical, beautiful, Divine Jesus. More Juarez pics:

| Since I've been in Mexico, I have found a new love for studying the Bible. I mean reading, singing, and praying certain passages from the Bible have always been a part of my devotional life with Jesus, but the example of my friend Jordan (a teammate of mine on the Juarez trip; he and his wife live in Dallas and are a part of Mercy Place) has seriously altered the way I encounter the Bible. I've really needed this change in my life - which obviously is affecting my outer life. Gloria a Dios!
Pray for a man named Juan who just gave his life to Jesus last night. He was simply sitting by himself in the park, so I struck up a conversation in Spanish (gloria a Dios!) and shared the good news with him. He is now a new brother in Christ. Pray that he gets connected with Jope Church. Last night, I was able to introduce Juan to a guy that goes to Jope. Disciple him Lord and make him a discipler!
| Driving...it takes on a whole new meaning in Mexico. Everyone drives aggressively. If you drive defensively, you get creamed. Anyway, we are fine, but we did almost get hit by a bus the other day...no worries, the rental van easily drove ONTO the curb and sidewalk!!!
It was the last night to see our new friends in the neighborhood near the mountain. We are passing the baton to some friends from Jope church in Juarez. Please pray that the transition goes well and that our new Christian friends are shepherded well.
My friend Kevin bought me a pearl snap shirt at a garage sale...it has become one of my favorite shirts. Wore it all day yesterday in Cloudcroft, New Mexico (thought about you Josh). That place is beautiful! Mountains, quiet, green trees, and clouds that hang below mountain tops...can you say roadtrip! I'll post pics later...
